Empoleon!

20260717 - Friday

I just finished my Empoleon piece I started drafting back in January. This is my second attempt at the pattern, which I started in June. It's roughly 4x3 inches, stitched over 2 on 36 count linen with a size 28 tapestry needle. I just gave it a wash and the next steps will be waiting for it to dry, ironing it, and maybe trying to find a frame. After that, I'll be sending it off to a friend!

I think in previous craft progress entries, I've mentioned this isn't the type of thing I stitch, which I think contributed to how badly I ended up dragging my feet on the project. There's a few other factors, mainly my relative unfamiliarity with stitching on linen. However, I like the fabric's look a lot over aida, so I'm eager to keep practicing with it. I also used beeswax as thread conditioner, but I think in several areas I overdid it. Either way, these snags are both signposts for future improvement, which is why I'm writing them down.
