Getting Deck'd and Such
20260513 - Wednesday
It's been a busyish week getting prepared for the next couple truly busy weeks. I hate the effort of moving, and this is the 5th move for me since 2020. My hope is that we stay in the next place for a bit longer, so the effort feels a bit more worthwhile.
- ⊳ Decker Zine Template by Millie Squilly: Is what it says it is. I was really interested in making zines a few months ago, but the idea's been on hold for a bit because I'm not an artist whatsoever, and I'm not sure my ideas are anything cool or new.
- ⊳ Mitzi: Has cool art.
- ⊳ Japan Sumo Association: I don't really keep up with sumo in any meaningful way, but this tournament is the first I'm trying to follow.

This past week, I've been messing around a lot with Decker & it's been really fun. It makes my old laptop very hot, so I'll need to find a solution for that. Otherwise, I've been working away on a few different reading calendars which I'll hopefully be sharing sometime next month.
Craft Progress
I finally started on the third (& final) page of this project. I think I dislike the q-snap frame, but I'm a bit too lazy to wrap an embroidery hoop with cloth. I don't have to move the frame very often, but every time I do, it's so finnecky.
Japanese Progress
- I haven't been studying too consistently, I think it gets harder as the year progresses, and I feel like I'm not keeping up. Either way, I am trying to get more reading in, which is supposed to make long-term vocabulary memorization better.
- ⊳ NHK: 北海道福島町 女性だけの相撲の大会があった
- ⊳ Tadoku: ちょっと
- ⊳ Tadoku: 母の日
- ⊳ I've still been on a steady Tomodachi Life grind. My YouTube/Instagram algorithm is catching on, and a lot of islands seem to have one version or another of Link from Legend of Zelda; HOWEVER, I have yet to see a Wind Waker Link, which is the version on my island. Have people forgotten about Wind Waker? It's the cutest version of Link imho.
- ⊳ This week, I've filled up some suitcases and a few boxes to prepare for The Move. We don't have a lot of boxes, though, and I'm not sure if it's common over here to ask at big box stores for more.
Reading
I've been reading much more throughout May than I did in March and April, and I've been happily working away on a "monthly reads" deck to share at the end of the month. I finished The Everlasting at the end of last week, and I'm working my way through 3 books now.
