Weekly Blog #4
20260429 - Wednesday
I can/can't believe it's already May. I always feel like the first half of a year slips away much faster than the second.
Craft Progress
No image this week, because I haven't made a lot of progress. I've been feeling pretty happy with the pace I'm at, though, and have recovered fully from the burn out I was feeling a few weeks ago with it.

Reading
- ⊳ I finished The Decagon House Murders quicker than I thought I would & really enjoyed it. It was much scarier than I expected, but I was exclusively reading it at night.
- ⊳ Currently, I have 4 books rented from the library, The Everlasting by Alix E. Harrow, Game Changer by Rachel Reid, Adjustment Day by Chuck Palahniuk, and Between the World and Me by Ta-Nahisi Coates. The first is my main read, the second is thoughtless reading, and the latter two I'm reading at a slower pace and might not finish them before they're due.
- ⊳ I enjoy Chuck Palahniuk a lot, but I haven't read too much from him. Besides Fight Club, I really enjoyed Make Something Up: Stories You Can't Unread, especially the chapter "Smoke." At one point, I had a copy and read The Invention of Sound, but it disappeared. I can't remember if I liked it as much as the others. Either way, admitting I like Palahniuk sometimes makes me feel like a 19-year-old boy film student (annoying), but I hope my understandings of his work are a bit deeper than that of a boy. Either way, it's been a few years since I've last read a Palahniuk, so I'm excited to get back into him.
Miscellaneous
- ⊳ I cut the usual web browsing and site updates from this week's post- just didn't have anything interesting to say on those fronts.
- ⊳ My husband, cat, and I will be moving pretty soon! I don't like where we live right now at all, so I'm very happy to start packing. Site/blog updates may be a bit sparse depending on how smoothly things go.
- ⊳ I've been getting back in the habit of using my MP3 player. The stretching playlist didn't really work out, but it's whatever.
- ⊳ I'm thinking I might make a page for books I've been reading lately/have read over the last few years. I'd like to make a timeline of everything I've read in a perfect world, but my recordkeeping is pretty inconsistent between digital and paper.
