Weekly Roundup #2

20260415 - Wednesday

Hi! Welcome to the second roundup. I'm still spending a lot of my time editing the site trying to make it more functional before moving to more advanced/fun things...

Links & such

⊳ 12 years ago: WTW for the "Yooo! sound in Japanese culture?: At some point in The Origami Kingdom, you travel around a Shogun theme park, & this sound comes up a lot. I knew it had to do with kabuki, but didn't know specifically what it was for.
⊳ 9 April: NHK News Easy: 岩手大学「猫がごはんを残すのは匂いに慣れるからだ」. An article about why cats sometimes eat less of their food.
⊳ 10 April: And they named it... Brick 'Em Young????: Mormon legos. Lol?

likematches Updates

There's been more changes to the site than I initially expected- every time I think I'm done or happy with things I just want to keep on fiddling! This week, I:

⊳ Changed how links look on the main part of my site, so they should be easy to spot!
⊳ Setup a guestbook! I've also started signing others' guestbooks recently!
⊳ Made an RSS feed for my blog.
⊳ Added a cursor effect to my homepage! I might remove it soon enough, because I want to add a "toggle effects" button before I got too far ahread of myself.
⊳ Added more stickers to the "Site Info" page, but nothing crazy.

Craft Progress

I'm still working on Filet Ancien, and I am not making much progress... So little headway that a photo would be silly. I might switch projects soon to try and avoid burnout. I'm also on my second skein of thread with this project, so once I run out of that I'll be on a forced pause until the next time I visit home.

Miscellaneous くコ:彡

I've been trying to listen to music again, lately, but I feel so out of the loop... The amount of music I listen to changes drastically every few months/years, so whenever I'm wanting to listen again, I want (but struggle) to find something new. Like, I used to love k-pop a handful of years ago, but most of my craving for the genre died sometime within the last year or so. It's frustrating, because there was so much joy in that genre for me and I've been strugling to find anything that can even begin to fill that void.

I re-activated my bandcamp account, and spent hours clicking around different artists, genres, and locations. I've also been clicking through Radio Garden, though it's hard to ID songs from there. My favorite so far from a light search is the Depeche Mode station in Brussels.
